From the day he was born, Joshua Walter’s life has revolved around music. At the beginning of the millennium Joshua decided to devote his life to his passion and took the Dutch club scene by storm. When he decided in 2012 to kick it up a notch, by launching his own music / video production company and record label “Nocturnal Animals”, things took off globally. When his first remix for US pop star Katy Tiz (Atlantic Records) dropped, it was the breakthrough he was waiting for and the release of his visual album (with support from Wetransfer) has put him firmly on the radar of music lovers everywhere.
Diversity is the one word that describes Joshua Walter best. His sense of eclecticism is highly reflected in his own music and his high-energy DJ sets. His ability to keep the party vibe going strong is demonstrated by his regular additions to the line ups of The Color Run, the MTV Awards Afterparty (Madrid & Amsterdam), The Electric Run and his residencies at high-end clubs like Jimmy Woo and Escape in Amsterdam. In addition, Joshua has spun in New York (Standard Hotel), Barcelona, Turkey, Belgium, Germany and at renowned festivals, including Mysteryland, Solar and Valtifest, among others.
In the last couple of years Joshua Walter made his mark by releasing his own music with a sound best described as a daring mix of Eclectic Dance & Pop. His first EP called “Project Nocturnal Animals” released in 2013 after a highly successful crowd funding campaign. Ever since then, every single track hit the mark and Joshua got full support from renowned brands such as: MTV (Original & Brand New), Red Bull Studios, Radio 538, XITE, 3FM, SLAMFM and so much more. Last year his remixes for US artists Katy Tiz (Atlantic Records) and Scavenger Hunt (Los Angeles) blew up and opened the doors for much more. Currently singles “Fly High” and “Till The Night Is Over” are hitting the airwaves everywhere around the globe and keep gaining ground.
At the beginning of 2015 Joshua announced an unprecedented move, by releasing the first Dutch visual dance album. “PNA NIGHT VISIONS” featuring nine different music videos. These videos were promoted to 60 million users worldwide and made available for free, with the support from file sharing service ‘Wetransfer’.
‘I couldn’t have done these videos without the help from all these young creatives all over the Netherlands and I’m so glad Wetransfer helped reach a huge audience, because their amazing work deserves to be seen by everybody.’
A lot has been achieved over the past ten years, but Joshua shows no signs of stopping. With new music coming up, written in London, New York & Los Angeles, there is all the more reason to keep your eyes and ears open! There is a very big chance you’ll be running into him at a party, in the record stores and on the radio.
